Guest guest
I have two year old who sometimes refuses to nap. On those days, I either take him for a drive or take him for a walk. In the winter I bundle us up and go walking...works like a charm..the cold air hits him and he's out like a light for a couple of hours. I find it easier than the car because he's a light sleeper and I can't get him out of the car without waking him; so I have to stay in the car with him until he wakes. Then I get nothing done! Once a kids decides that they are not going to nap you really can't make them go to sleep and turning it into a conflict just creates frustration for all involved. A nice ride in the car does do wonders for kids who insist they aren't tired, though at the price of gas these days it may not be worthy it.
