i'm not sure when we'll be doing one in your area, angie - it's

certainly on the agenda, but i think birmingham is probably going to be

next. the last four were in mid-wales, york, bristol and edinburgh, so

it's probably time we had one in the south-east too. there is certainly

no bias towards london these days and even the agm is going to be in

chester [which may provide an opportunity for a gathering of some kind

the next day]

actually you can, or rather you can invite them to contact you in a

slightly more personal way than just having your name in the mag and on

the website. if a local contact wants to start a group, or even just to

introduce themselves to members in their area, the society will do a

mailout for you [though not more than once a year for the same area as].

there's even a standard letter and questionnaire you can adapt to suit

your plans and your area. these mailouts are becoming quite a cottage

industry these days - and well worth it, as the constantly expanding

local contacts and groups pages in The Vegan show.

 

for those who are wondering what to cook tomorrow [and the day after]

have a look at <www.ivu.org> - there are about 2000 recipes, searchable

by country and by ingredient, and all of them vegan!
