Rights are nonsense on stilts. You have a right (meaning it's part of your agreement with the society) to come along to the AGM and vote. You do not have a *right* to have other people meet *your* other commitments in order to free you up to attend. Because children are a fairly common and important 'other commitment', it would still be nice to try to meet it if practical - otherwise, some parents will be unable to come. I think a bigger 'disenfranchisement' issue is those vegans who are, in practice, disenfranchised by not being able to afford to visit London for the AGM.
