Guest guest Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Well said. And very true. My disagreements and debates with Gene have been a blast. They have been exhausting...Blood pressure soaring, then falling is very tiring. Gene is the one person that really pushes my buttons and I embrace that. I think he's wonderful...He pisses me off and I love it. I don't feel anything remotely negative towards him. And I feel bad that others have perceived this as flaming and intolerance. Which is why I apologized and decided it would be best for all members if I just limited my discussions to recipes. But if that is disappointing people then by all means....DEBATE! I did hope to learn from his perspectives as I am dead set in mine. Guest guest Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Go Dave Go!!!! My husband to be Mark has been vegetarian for the last year, and I for the last 19 years and he is so happy with it. I really liked what you said about being more considerate with your food. I think you will love it, as i did when i first took the plunge and have never looked back. There are so many great things to cook and enjoy, even after all this time Im learning new things to do with vegetables. It has encouraged me to live a very happy and healthy existance, growing my own fresh organic vegetables and using vegan animal friendly products. I hope your journey is as fun and exciting as mine was and still is! Good luck with it all. Warmest Wishes Fitzy  padmasanadave <padmasanadave Tuesday, 1 July, 2008 1:05:18 AM Thanks! I have considered becoming a veggie for some time, but it was just this past weekend when I, with the support of so many of you, began my journey in earnest. I went completely meatless on Saturday, and have eaten only enough meat to politely acknowledge my wife's cooking since then. (My wife knows of my preference, but I am trying to gradually break her into my new lifestyle.) I love my healthier, more loving, and more considered relationship with my food, and I am having a blast enjoying the subtleties of flavor and texture that have been hidden from me for so long. My discovery of the day is five-grain bread topped with hummus and golden flax seed. What at trip! Count me in, and thanks to all in the group for your support.
