Guest guest Report post Posted February 7, 2010 At the end of my post on research methodology and experimental design, I spoke rather sharply and impatiently about some of the bogus crap that goes on in the name of science and experimentation-- I want to make it clear that I was in no way intending insult to this audience. I used to have great hopes and great belief in the scientific method, and essentially I still do-- I have just been painfully disillusioned by how frequently it is corrupted and distorted in practice. Please take my vehemence as reflecting personal passion and past disappointment, rather than a commentary on my expectations of what others on this list might produce. We are all practitioners in a field that has not always been investigated with unbiased rigor by Western science. I am very sorry that this is the case, and hope that together we may remedy it, but I have over time become more than a bit cynical about scientific integrity. Perhaps in this enclave we can do better. with sincerity Thea Elijah
