Howdy Bulan,

Speaking for myself only .. I appreciate your desire to offer to help in

this situation. But the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. We

must be careful because accurate Safety Data on most essential oils can not

be found in the majority of the Aromatherapy publications out and about.

There are LD-50 levels of toxicity and dermatology data in in Martin Watt's

safety manual, " Plant Aromatics " http://www.aromamed ical.com/ paper.html ..

it is probably the most accurate and valuable safety manual in print now.

This manual along with his Essential Oils Monographs (on the same link)

provides an enormous amount of accurate and important information on safety.

However, we will NOT find Martin or any other knowledgeable practitioner of

alternative- complementary therapies recommending use of essential oils to

deal with a tooth abscess! A tooth abscess can result in death if not

properly treated!!! Untreated abscesses can penetrate bone and soft tissue

... skin and muscles, etc., and can spread throughout the body. There is a

long list of medical problems that can be caused by an untreated abscess.

> I have a book about therapy with ESSENTIAL OIL by Julia Lawless .. in

> that book said if abscesses we can use essential oil of bergamot, chamomile

> (German & Roman) , eucalyptus blue gum, galbanum, helichrysum, lavandin,

> lavender (spike & true) , lemon, mastic, niaouli, clary sage, tea tree, thyme,

> turpentine .. if u have one of that essential oil, just tell me, i will give

> u the safety data & how to apply it to u, because every essential oil have

> their safety data .. DON'T USE IT BEFORE U KNOW THE SAFETY DATA .. Hope can

> help & u can get well soon ..

> Best regards ..

Generally speaking, the level of knowledge on this News Group regarding safe

use of Essential Oils is far beyond what one would call Elementary .. but in

some cases we have folks who have just enough knowledge to be dangerous to

themselves and to others when they make recommendations that are not

sound! Most folks are aware of the existence of the Lawless book and the

many other such novels that are out and about .. most of which are totally

hypothetical and confuse the therapeutic properties of aromatic plants with

the oils extracted from those plants. Most of the AT novels will claim

that a laundry list of EO can be successfully used to treat a laundry list

of ailments .. but they rarely get into the nitty gritty of how it should be

done .. and in almost all cases the claims are simply regurgitation' s of

previously unreferenced incorrect information from previously published

unreferenced novels. What I am saying is that .. the lion's share of these

recommendations should be filed under the heading of Dangerous Bovine

Excrement! Back in 1995, when I was learning a bit about AT, I bought many

of these publications .. sometimes having a big library can make us feel

that we are knowledgeable. Later I learned the proper use for most of

those pubs .. they are ideal for putting under a table leg when it is

shorter than the other legs. ;-)

Owning a publication that discusses use of essential oils does not make one

qualified to make valid, safe recommendations on many things and even those

who are experienced pracitioners will not even consider making

recommendations on problems that can be life threatening. The fact that it

is written in an AT novel means exactly nothing. Some good recommendations

would be .. walk softly and learn the pros and cons of the

alternative- complementary treatment business and even then still be careful

when recommending use of EO as a CURE rather than as a complementary

treatment .. and .. do not try to use the recommendations found in the AT

novels to treat someone you care for who has a serious problem .. especially

your children.

My recommendation to the person who has a tooth abcess .. you DO need help

but NOT from ANYONE on this News Group! Get yourself to a dentist NOW ..

if cash flow is an issue now, think what the cost can be if the infection

spreads. In this happens, as a minimum you will probably be hospitalized ..

as a minimum!

Good luck .. take care of your own health .. and y'all keep smiling. :-)
