Dear group,

I'm wondering if anyone has any good advice for me

regarding a woman, pregnant with her first child. She

has had eczema since childhood, manifesting as a blood

deficient/stasis pattern from her history of

accompanying symptoms.

The eczema tends to lie on the ST channel, and

particularly affects her nipples. She would like to

breastfeed, and is concerned about having flare-ups. I

am also concerned because of the large blood loss

during delivery. She will be taking herbs post-partum.

Any suggestions for a good topical application? I was

considering the Blue Poppy chapped nipple ointment or

Psoriaquell, but would love any words of wisdom.

Thanks in advance,

Melanie

The Blue Poppy ointment sounds good... also look for Yin Care, a TCM topical

that seems

to work very well for a wide range of dermatological issues. I know a

distributor for Los

Angeles but I don't know where you are located.

Hi Melanie,

A friend of mine has for several years dealt with her 10-yr old daughter's

eczema. In dealing with her skin and hair issues she has done so much

experimentation that she has been developing her own products and is launching a

marketing campaign. I forwarded your email to her in case she wanted to

contribute what has worked for her. Here is her response:

You can tell her to make a bath mix of 1/2 oz

chamomile powder, 1/4 oz lavender powder, 1/4 oz brown

rice flour, and 1/4 to 3/8 tsp citric acid. Make a

decoction with 1 qt boiling water and let it sit for

anywhere from half an hour to overnight (preferred).

Strain into the bath through a fine mesh aquarium net

(really). Follow up with a good moisturizer... If her

eczema is bad, she should take the bath nightly until

it clears up a bit, then she could take it every other

night.

Or I could just send her a bath mix/KISS creme kit for

free, I need someone else to test it besides Yaya.

It's worked on her for about 6 months now. The

lavender and chamomile are extremely safe.

So, Melanie, if you would like to contact Nina directly to avail yourself of her

offer, please respond to me at

snakeoil.works, and I will put you in touch with her.

Hope this helps,

Ann

Hi there -

You might want to consider that she has a candida rash on her nipples.

Sometimes candida becomes a problem in pregnant women.
