I agree that we need to refer out more. I may be misunderstanding this part of your post, but I don't think we're necessarily 'the experts' at identifying the causes of the pathomechanisms. If I have a patient who is SP Qi xu and LV Qi Depression and she overindulges in sweets as well as in the 7 emotions, how am I to ascribe the relative contribution of those causes? And what of other possible 'causes' like childhood emotional trauma, a genetic predisposition, heavy metal toxicity, depleted serotonin causing sugar addiction . . . . don't I need to be the expert in nutrition and psychology (and genomics and . . . ) to get at the relative contributions from these possible causes? Few patients can afford to see a bunch of professionals. For those who can afford it, a good referral network can help them avoid seeing several practitioners with conflicting perspectives. Teamwork under one roof seems the best approach. I imagine the success of such clinics rests on finding a very compatible team of people/approaches. Marian --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
