Guest guest
Hi Roger and Rory Just wanted to mention about Bob Flaws Pulse Diagnosis seminar and book, The Secrets of Pulse Diagnosis. I attended the seminar and found my pulse diagnosis capabilities really positively affected by his teaching. My abilities in clinic have been much greater this year since studying with him and diagnosis much more confident. Thanks, Bob. There are definitely good teachers to be had here on the subject. At school, trying to learn everything at once, I found pulse was not focused on enough in clinic and thus was a little lost before taking the seminar. However, I did a couple of months in China also before the seminar and found that even there, when asked, my pulses were suprisingly pretty much right on. The clinic directors in Cheng Du seemed somewhat surprised that I could discern a soft pulse for example (so was I!!). My main teacher, Dr. Jamie Wu, was also from Cheng Du so I guess lineage has something to do with it perhaps. Regards, Shanna > > Roger, > > I completely agree with you, and it is the approach I use both in teaching students and in professional seminars. Students seem to find learning the 28 qualities and beyond much easier having started with this as the basis. It also give a method for analyzing pulses they are confused by: rather than try to fit the pulse to a standard definition, simply analize the parameters of sensation under the fingers and write them down. Each parameter has some fairly likely diagnostic meaning, so even though the practitioner finds it hard to name the exact quality, they can still use the pulse findings in their diagnosis. > > Rory > > >
