Guest guest
Hello Group I dislike introductions because they are so subjective. On a good day I am a 55 year young woman on her path to wisdom. I am a student of Chinese Herbs and at this time I am taking a course from Colleen DeLaney, L.Ac., MTCM, I work for/with a retired MD turned herbologist. We work in a small community out on the Mojave Desert in California. The economic situation is not good here at the moment. Most of our work in NFP. On a less than perfect day. My boss and mentor is 89 years old and beginning to tire. The power shortage here is frightening to our older fixed income or no income patients so much so that they do not turn on their heat and I go from one charity to another negotiating help for our patients/my friends with their utility bills. Our temperatures will soon go from very cold to over 100 degrees as we are old 100 miles from Death Valley. We work long hrs with much travel to our patients over dirt roads or no roads at all. We have one patient we have to hike into. I love my work but dislike a lot of what I see. I also rehab desert tortoises and exotic turtles and tortoises for the state and conservation groups. On a really bad day when I just want to be female and put work aside for awhile I am aware that we are 100 miles from the nearest mall! I am so pleased to have the chance to be a member of this group. Respectfully Diane Keith-Williams the high desert recluse
