Guest guest
I did a medline search and when patients meet proper criteria for laminectomy, the statistical results are good. We need to be careful about generalizing from our self selected patient population about the supposedly poor results of this procedure. Included are several abstracts including one that does show better results for a less invasive procedure, but still about 50% success for the laminectomy. In most cases, success ranged from 65-90% , though from 2-20 years followup. http://www.infotrieve.com/healthworld/std_format.cgi?med96-97+267845+(laminectom\ y)+AND+(outcome) http://www.infotrieve.com/healthworld/std_format.cgi?med96-97+267845+(laminectom\ y)+AND+(outcome) http://www.infotrieve.com/healthworld/std_format.cgi?med96-97+390449+(herniation\ )+AND+(laminectomy)+AND+(outcome) http://www.infotrieve.com/healthworld/std_format.cgi?med96-97+504265+(herniation\ )+AND+(laminectomy)+AND+(outcome) http://www.infotrieve.com/healthworld/std_format.cgi?med96-97+480211+(herniation\ )+AND+(laminectomy)+AND+(outcome) -- Chinese Herbal Medicine
