Guest guest
From my own as well as my friends experience I agree with todds opinion about ministerial fire and the question of how to express this enormous stimulation. I see dampness as the major result of smoking pot. Why ? - Ministerial fire leads to an urge of activity. This activity can be expressed by having many thoughts(consuming heart & spleen qi), excessive laughing (spreading of heart qi, " exc.joy " ), or by getting into physical action(or other ways). Why is this physical expression not so harmful? I think it is because this action gives some energy in return, it creates Qi. The " free floating " mind finds resistance, a counterpart, the yang gets into yin (the body, gravity, a tree...).This interaction creates Qi on the one hand and it prevents the Shen from getting dispersed on the other (the yin holds the yang).s friend had this physical activity as behavourial pattern. Others express it more in intellectual fields (like initiating this wonderful forum). Bad luck! I don't believe that constitution can sufficiently explain the different experiences and results from smoking pot. - next day and hang-over: the loss of Qi (mainly ht & spleen) leads to a kind of depression (QiXu) and to a stagnated feeling(QiXu resulting in Qi-Stagnation, failing to move " itself " , the body fluids and the transformation in the spleen, thus resulting in dampness!) This process I believe to have experienced using weed. - Eating: I would consider it of being an attempt of pushing down the upflaring fire, a kind of helpless way to get rid of this energy- surplus that doesn't find it's proper way). - Dampness: as described above, the next days experience leads to QiXu & dampness. This process going on chronically will aggravate it. - Yin: I didn't mention it yet because I think it's not the YinXu to be the main cause for red eyes and excess of thoughts. An effect(like red eyes) which appears within a minute should neither be Yin nor Xu, nor YinXu (apart from excessive lost of blood due to trauma). It is the fire which does these symptoms. This fire will of course not only disperse and consume the Qi but also consume Yin. So a Yin Xu might follow on long-term base. Just a few thoughts from Patrick peaceful days in between the years to you all

Isn't all life experience ultimately just an interaction between genes and the environment? > - Eating: I would consider it of being an attempt of pushing down the > upflaring fire, a kind of helpless way to get rid of this energy- > surplus that doesn't find it's proper way). I agree, especially because eating brings you down from the high. I think the colloquial term getting high, which is most commonly used to refer to marijuana inebriation, reflect the rising yang nature of ganja. It was also used to stimulate kundalini in aghora yoga > - Yin: I didn't mention it yet because I think it's not the YinXu to > be the main cause for red eyes and excess of thoughts.
