Guest guest
Hi All! I've been considering relocating to the NYC area from CO. I was educated at NESA, got my MAOM there, but it looks like NY licensure requires 4,050(!) hours: http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/acu/acupunlic.htm#edu I think NESA's MAOM was something like 2700 hours. Does anyone know if you can get a NY licensure without having graduated exclusively from a qualified NY AP school? Thanks. Ben Hawes, L.Ac. Guest guest
HI Ben: I relocated from CA to NY, and am now licensed here. You need to be Nccaom certified, and then you need to go through the NY board of Ed, which issues professional licenses of all sorts. It's a time consuming, tedious process and it took forever, but no, you don't need any more hours than are required to be eligible for the national board. good luck with it! marie sepich LAc (CA and NY)
