Guest guest
Valerie, Sorry in the delay in getting back to you. When dry needling is done at the hospital we use codes on a billing sheet which are all PT codes. Acupuncture codes are not used at all. It could be a manual therapy code or even a therapeutic exercise code if the patient is needled and then performs an exercise right after the release to maintain the stretch obtained. I do not know what the reimbursement is for either of these codes. The therapist who was doing the dry needling now has his own clinic so there is no dry needling there at this time -- no other PTs were interested in training for this.
