Valerie,

 

Sorry in the delay in getting back to you.

 

When dry needling is done at the hospital we use codes on a billing sheet which

are all PT codes. Acupuncture codes are not used at all. It could be a manual

therapy code or even a therapeutic exercise code if the patient is needled and

then performs an exercise right after the release to maintain the stretch

obtained. I do not know what the reimbursement is for either of these codes.

 

The therapist who was doing the dry needling now has his own clinic so there is

no dry needling there at this time -- no other PTs were interested in training

for this.
