The book Healing with Whole Foods points out that flower of sulfur can be

used for scabies.  I have used neem oil for many things including as a pesticide

in my garden, and it does state that it can be used for scabies, but I have not

found it to work as stated.

In Ayurveda, neem does have cleansing properties on the skin. However, it would

not traditionally be used in an oil medium for something like scabies. The oil

is too heavy, and has too much yin. If anything, it would be used in

decoction/infusion with water for more of a cleansing, reducing effect. Still,

scabies would probably need something stronger.

It's like the overmarketing and overuse of yin qiao san for any kind of common

cold. Not at all the intention or traditional use of the substance. Neem can

be used for some dermatological conditions in Ayurveda, but as with TCM there is

much more subtlety in the herbalism.
