Guest guest
Again, Nam, I can't emphasize enough that we should only treat patterns, not diseases, and as such I take " cures " with a grain of salt. Of course, there are multiple causes for seizures: parasites, blood clots, spinal cord injuries, growths, blood sugar irregularities, substance abuse or drug side effects just to mention a few. And what works for one will most probably not work for another. I think I may have written, that many years ago, we met with the medical researcher and clinical professor of psychiatry at UCLA, Dr. Melvin Werbach about Chana's case. He made the point of emphasizing that in most cases there is not one cause to illness, nor will one magic bullet work. Rather, in his view, the correct and most prudent approach must be to consider and uncover each possible contributing factor, one by one. From his experience, often, many small contributing factors can collectively cause a patient to collapse, and the cumulative effect of eliminating them can often lead to recovery. In Chana's case, indeed there were many factors that we treated (and tested for) along the way and therapies that we attempted: Amalgam fillings and Mercury toxicity, hypoglycemia, chronic constipation, irregular sleep habits, magnesium and zinc deficiency, intracranial pressure, and of course the presence of a lesion in the brain. I'm sure that addressing some of these imbalances, has clearly helped her general well being. But nothing short of the present protocol has been able to stop the seizures, as I mentioned. ________________________________ Nam Nguyen <dr_namnguyen58 Chinese Medicine Fri, November 20, 2009 7:38:52 AM Re: Ren shen and Seizures Dear Yehuda, Thank for your information. It provides a lot of data needed for me to study more. Those data must be digested and absorbed which I have not had an answer for myself immediately. However, I had acquired a few data from some of my colleagues. Most of them have not seen the seizures nor treated the seizure " epilepsy " . However, there are some who have had experienced with this illness. For them, they have treated this disease and did not drive all symptoms or syndrome into a good diagnosis, few of them just treated but do not know what they have been doing. Conclusion, they all claimed to me , personally, there is no cure, and these symptoms are coming back again and again. There is one good friend of mine who said that a fresh clove of garlic, a Yu Jin ( must be washed ). THese 2 ingredients are grinded into powder form and mixed into a cup of hot water....... ......... .. Take 1 tbs, 3x a day......... .... This is for brain tonic and brain cancer. It had been treated a patient with epileptic seizure for 2 years, and its illness had never returned. I always take things in a consideration, not hasty. I am still wondering and wandering " Why all of us , TCM, have not found a cure for this illness? Should we all look into an illness with a different approach instead of Liv-Ki yin def, fire, damp, phlegm for no-cure illness...? " And why are we keep coming up with the same diagnosis to all chronic disease without cure? Again , there is a clue. For most symptoms of this illness I have seen and heard, there is an aura " a warning sign " which appears before a patient being attacked. My girl friend experienced a pounding headache, somes accompanied with palpitation. If LI4 is pressed for 20- 40 seconds, these symptoms vanished. Attack disappears. Other I heard, patient experience a lethargy, weakness, and or exhausted... ........ All symptoms are the same, after an attack, the patient has not known it had happened. Another said, " This illness comes from being oppressed, depressed, and stressed " . But this does not bring out anything, for all symptoms are alike, patients are not aware of any incident at all. I am sorry I am running out of time........ ... All I am doing is look and search into Qi ( the source of life, and the change of all things ) and still think this is a key. THE SOURCE OF LIFE AND A SOURCE OF CHANGE exists either at Kidneys " DNA " or at the BRAIN " bone marrow, DNA " . Again, thanks so much Yehuda. We are experiencing a journey of challenge.
