Guest guest
Hi,I'm wondering if anyone knows of an online doctoral program that is good? I would really like to get my doctorate but cannot afford to take the time away from work that it would take to go to school, so I've been thinking about an online program. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Hi Laura - Long time no speak. Just thought I would mention that the Yo San DAOM Program here in Los Angeles is set up specifically for working Acupuncturists, i.e. the classes are held on one 3-day weekend per month, with opportunities to gather clinical hours through Fellowships, Mentorships, Preceptorships, and extra days on the odd weekend here or there. We actually have several folks who will be coming in from out of State - one of them all the way from Alaska. The Yo San Program is set up for a very narrow specialty of Reproductive Medicine/Infertility (Male and Female), so anyone interested in the program would need to be interested in devoting a fairly large part of their practice to that particular specialty. But if someone is interested in that specialty, this will be an amazing learning experience. We have put together top REI Faculty from UCLA, USC, Duke, Stanford, and other programs, as well as top TCM Fertility Specialists who will be involved in teaching courses, and in supervising clinically. Anyway, if you are interested or have any questions, feel free to give me a call (323) 793-5131 Ray Rubio, D.A.O.M. Guest guest
I think that AUCM (American Univ of Complimentary Medicine in Los Angeles) was proposing to offer many of its classes online for its PhD in CCM. Kiiko Matsumoto and Jeffrey Yuen were to be a part of this training. Do not know if they have started the online classes yet. There has been a few PhD's at other CA schools that are offering a doctorate and I think that one of them may have online courses. You can find some info for one such program at http://www.americanglobalu.edu/AMRA.pdf but aware that this is not a program of high stature. In other words, this may be looked at as a diploma mill, which is not legit for CA practitioners to use in ads referencing themselves as doctor. Most of the DAOM's are using the one weekend a month schedule over two years. Michael W. Guest guest
Y, Good to know but the DAOM's are not online and involve a clinical component that requires physical presence. I see only a PhD as an option, and even then it would be very limited and the quality of some of these is questionable. Michael W.
