Guest guest
I am sorry I did not provide this important note. Sometimes when I was with her, she told me she had an aura, a warning, I use acupressure on LI4 , on either side gently, not both sides, her attacks vanishes. Is there any lead ? LI4 , a yangming channel goes up to the head, face, nose, mouth, cross the DU channel at Du26. Also LI4 is a big 4gates. Thanks
Guest guest
Nam, Might I ask if you had palpated the patient's abdomen and what you found (tightness, pain, temp differences, etc). I might also ask what the other previous practitioners had thought, found and treated. If all of you have thought that she is yin deficient, treated her that way, and aggravated her symptoms, then I would say that would not appear to be her main issue. In her history, what do you know about previous conditions, onset of these symptoms along with other treatments. What has helped and what has not? I apologize for not re-reading your initial post before I deleted it but today I have had some thoughts as I read this post. I am most concerned about her immune system (reflex near McBurney's point) and also oketsu (st 25-27 areas on her left). Both of these areas are found reactive in many people, especially with longstanding issues. With issues of the head, there can be so many local thoughts about what might be causing this to happen. Basalar insufficiency to nasopharyngitis are two worth considering. If you can provide this info, it would be most helpful. Michael W. Bowser, DC, LAc Chinese Medicine dr_namnguyen58 Tue, 10 Nov 2009 18:22:20 -0800 Has anybody seen and treated epilepsy successfully? Please help. Dear Robert, Thanks for your thought and your lead. As you stated that this is a Liv Wind, liver Fire with Ki yin and Blood deficiency, well I might have to agree with you, but ..... There is no factor of Liv Yin def . As you can see there is no symptoms of yin defciency, neither on pulses, tongues; also there is no sign of liver or gallbladder problems ( anger, hypochondriac, temporal, vertex, inguinal, tendons areas, dizziness, headaches, eyesight... no signs of weakness, fatigue, laziness, shortness of breath... ) No signs of kidneys ( lumbar, knees, hearing, bones or falling hairs ) No sign of fire ( heat ), dryness, or burning sensation, ulceration , no inflammation... There is no sign of blood deficiency either ( dry tongue, dry skin, dry stools, dry eyes, dizziness, itching... ). As I often heard, a syndrome as yours had described, may hit some targets of High Blood Pressure, or with someone with cancers or with hepatitis, someone with a long chronic headaches .... diabetes or arthritis with abused medication. If this is a Yin def, there must be some forms of debilitating, weakness. It must be real and visible because Yin is materialism and visible in form. But this is a special case, wrong treatment would end up her life. I heard that she had gone to visit some acupuncturists and herbalists for treatments. Each time she went, it got worse and became so severe. Her family was very angry because they thought were afraid they might have to lose her. It were very intense and serious. If it is a liv Yin def, we may see yin def first, which means she loses some weight, dry skin, dry hairs, dry nails, thirst, heat sensation, headache, dizziness, plus the liver problem ( anger, hypochondriac, temporal areas, eyes, vertex... and may be related to some allergies ), especially happens at night ( if related to Yin def ). If kid yin def, there must be yin def plus kid problems ( low back, shortness of breath, knees, bones, hearing, seminal, urination, or bowel movements ... ) If there is problem of Blood def , there may be of dry skin, dry blood, lack of fluid, dry bones, dry eyes, mouth, or ears, dry hairs, dry nails; and maybe some of internal wind such as headaches or dizziness, vertigo... ROBERT, IF THIS IS A CASE YOU HAD EXPERIENCED AND TREATED IT SUCCESSFULLY, I may try to follow your lead. However, I need some analysis of yours in your conclusion of this diagnosis. I would not try if this is just a guess work. Is there anybody has had come across this disease and successfully treated this illness? please share your experience so we can learn and study more about this. Or if anybody has a new lead , please air with us so we can study together. Thanks very much. Nam Nguyen
Guest guest
Nam, I think there must be something missing. We don't treat " epilepsy " anyway - we treat Liver or Internal Wind which is causing the shaking. And there must be some cause of it (blood deficiency or Yin deficiency). If you feel there's nothing you can do, refer it to a more senior practitioner...I'm sure there is something missing. And has the acupuncture I suggested helped? Also regarding the LI4 stuff you did...Yang Ming channel has the most Qi and blood. Moving Blood stops internal wind....makes complete sense. And as Hugh said, many women are blood deficient...
