Guest guest
My cat has another UTI, do people have any suggestions for treatment or prevention? I just hate the vet and antibiotic routine but I don't know anything else to do. I know that in humans ursa urvi can help, but would you give that to a cat??? Guest guest
Angela,  I purchased the book Acu-Cat and have gotten great results using acupressure. The drawings are OK, not great, but do give a general idea of point locations.  Basically, your cat will tell you when you are on a the right point.  An example for urinary problems: BL23, BL28, BL32, BL40,CV3, LIV 2, LIV8, KID 5.  Kathleen --- On Fri, 11/6/09, Angela Pfaffenberger, PH.D. <angelapfa wrote: Angela Pfaffenberger, PH.D. <angelapfa Re: TCM -Cat UTI Chinese Medicine Friday, November 6, 2009, 2:15 PM  My cat has another UTI, do people have any suggestions for treatment or prevention? Guest guest
I would find a Holistic Veterinarian who does Homeopathy, Nutrition and Traditional or one of them really well. You may consider treating with probiotics and colostrum for prevention. During infection I would change to anti-infectives plus probiotics, colostrum and cranberry extract. Try UT Formula One by PRL. An appropriate formula for clearing the TCM pattern your cat has would be a good idea. Just lower the dosage according to your cats weight. One vet in my area uses Health Concerns and herbal granules mixed in food for cats and dogs. The tabs need to be mashed up first for cats. Best wishes for your cat's health.
