Guest guest
Hi Ariel: Thyroxine is hot, we know this because it (for example) increases the basal metabolic rate of all cells in the body, and increases the sensitivity of the body to catecholamines (like adrenaline). If the thyroid hormone is being administered as a drug, then herbs can increase its effect, or decrease its effect. Hot herbs will add to the effect of the thyroxine, and cold herbs will take away from its effect. Are there herb-drug interactions which occur independently of the hot/cold energetic? I don't know, and I haven't come across such a thing in my limited reading. Hope that helps. (What's up with this patient?)
