From what I have read, there are different reeds . . . some carry the fragrance better than others. I remember reading so much about the " smelly jellies " so I made them and saw NO advantage to them. Had to have your nose right on top of them to smell the fragrance and I used a lof of lavender in it. I worried the reeds would be more of the same . . . a fad without much scent. So .. . .. I wonder if the type of reed is true. I have seen many sell the reeds and the prices seem to vary. I would like to know what anyone else thinks about these. If they really worked, I would like to try lemon myrtle with them for my office desk. -Helen BTW - my hubby threatens to block QVC!! LOL!! I think the real issue is whether these reeds can be used with essential oils and some kind of safe natural carrier that will aid in the way the bamboo works to wick the oil and give off a good strong aroma over time. The non naturals on the market certainly do work- but unfortunately using all kinds of junk we don't want to breathe. My guess is that essential oils will work wit these reeds- and the real issue will be finding some liquid base that is effective and not toxic / synthetic. That appears to be the challenge.
