Hi Bonnie,

I've just recently learned about " Elimination Communication " IPT (Infant

Potty Training) . . . A new training method apparently no nappies at all

starting at about 6 months and probably lots of hovering over the kid (some

might call it stalking :-)), most likely running frequently to the potty in

the hopes of catching the moment. No opinion about the process or method,

just know none of the mothers in our family would willingly give up diapers

and take on the additional time burden this method might present. We don't

put up with animal elimination in the house, either. :-)

There are books, . . . " Potty Training in Less Than a Day " has 264 customer

reviews and 4-star rating on Amazon. Methinks the whole deal depends on the

stubbornness of the kid and whether or not they want to maintain control

over mom instead of their elimination devices. God luv 'em, but kids are

smart and they would easily become tyrants if we let them. My heart is with

ya, Bonnie. Having just spent a wonderful 3 weeks with my darling 1-year

old grandson, I can't imagine how in my younger days I worked full time and

had my first two 16 mos apart. Somehow we manage; must be youth. Hope

Butch isn't beginning to panic now!

Re: A new (to me) natural preservative for

everyone to tear ...

TOTALLY understood! In addition to doing inventory this week, my

partner is

away on business, my daughter's been having " on purposes " all over

the house

(as in, " Jeana, do you need to go potty? " ... " NO! " ...

pssssssssssss) and

the washer has broken down. I hope 2006 makes a sharp 180 turn

soon!!!!! Or

maybe that's what I need to get on my snowboard and do! LOL.

So, anyone got the scoop on Cinnamon Cassia? Or should we start

buying

stock?

As for " Potty Training In A Day, " who is being " trained " ? Child or parent????

Didn't work for my girls, but then again, neither did Dr. Dobson's " Strong

Willed Child. " He ain't seen the likes of my kids!!! Somehow, they both made it

to adulthood, though....

Yeah, mine too, Barb, and they're now good loving parents, as well.
