Guest guest
Hello all, I haven't been able to find any general guidelines for diffusing EOs around children. I've read that for babies to use Eucalyptus Smithii for colds and the like. I have three children, 7yrs, 2yrs and 6 months. Questions (related to inhalation only): 1. Do I need to wait until the youngest ones are in bed before diffusing " stronger " oils in the general living area? 2. What might be harmed in littles ones (what age this refers to I don't know) if oils other than Eucalyptus Smithii are diffused around them? 3. What ages do children need to be for the use of stronge EOs in their precence? I realize there may will be no black and white answers, but any help would be apprecitated! Thanks much, Mike
Guest guest
Hello Mike, I have an 8 month old baby and I diffuse oils while he is awake with no problems at all. As far as which oils are safe and which are not. I use the parent judgement system. If I see he is having problems with a certain oil I stop the use of it while he is around. But that is just me. I haven't found any problems with my childeren at all with diffusing EO around them. Their ages are 8 months and 9 years old. -Sarah At 03:24 PM 1/1/2006, you wrote: >Hello all, > >I haven't been able to find any general guidelines for diffusing EOs >around children. Guest guest
Small children - 1/2 the usual amount one uses for adults. Babies... under 6 months, ONLY diffuse and then 1/4 of what one uses for an adult... As for the euc, only one drop is needed AND I personally like to use the Lemon Euc for young children and babies. It's less harsh and seems to soothe much better than for example Euc glob. My second choice would be Euc smithii. Hope that helps.
