Guest guest
The Weather seems to be weird in a lot of places... all the snow that Spokane got is also gone and just the other day it was 60 degrees. Here in Northern CA we are having a LOT of wet. Rivers are flooding, trees are falling over and the mud has begun to slide in a few places. AND were due for a lot more rain in the next few coming days. The snow in the sierras is off again/on again as well. They'll get a good dump and then the rains come again. Very strange weather indeed. K On 12/28/05, naturesnotionsnj <naturesnotionsnj wrote: > > In a message dated 12/28/2005 2:24:00 P.M. Guest guest
Speaking of snow, reminds me of a joke I heard: This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for 2 days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any? This is a true story . . . There was a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked, " So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night? " Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too because they were laughing so hard! We have all been soo serious these past few days in the forum, thought I had to throw this out to lighten the mood... Carol

Guest guest
Almost all our snow melted. I have never seen the ground this bare at this time of year. We often get a thaw in midwinter but it used to just lower the snow pack. It didn't make it disappear. I just don't know what's normal anymore. It just started snowing again, thank goodness. Guest guest
> > On Behalf Of Shyra Murphy > Snow in Houston? Has it ever snowed in Houston? Hey Shyra, From what I can tell (only been here just 2 years myself) ... it snows in Houston about every 10 - 15 years, and last year, on Christmas Eve, it snowed here (for the first time ever it was a white Christmas). In my area, which is a little over 20 miles from downtown and 20 miles from the coast, we got about an inch or so, but down on the coast and in Austin, they got about 4 inches. Now, that is a BIG deal here! *lol* The first flakes that flew had everyone driving at 1 mph and causing traffic jams! Meanwhile, when I lived in Denver, it wasn't considered a big deal till about a FOOT feel <grinz> But today, it was in the mid 70's and I got to pick cherry tomatoes and get a workout by cleaning up the yard .. now to buy my rose trellises with my Christmas money ... *Smile* Chris (list mom) New Year ... Guest guest
It's 43* in this corner of lower Michigan. About 98% of the snow is gone and there's a misty sort of rain coming down. Supposed to turn to snow during the night and have 1-3 inches on the ground by morning. Ridiculous isn't the word for it Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away Here in Downeast Maine, right by the bay the rain has washed away the snow.....today it is 42 degrees....ridiculous....:<)...
