Guest guest
I need help with 2 subjects, would like inputs, recipes, personal experiences, etc. with the following that I want to help my son with. Thanks in advance~~~ 1. Help with quitting smoking. He wants/is going to try to quit smoking again. He has " cleaned " up his act as far as drinking & trying a more healthy diet etc. I think he may have quit alcohol, has cut waaay back on caffeine as far as his Dr. Peppers. Drinking more green tea, the tazo teas although they do have the sugars. And other diet changes. Has been reading some herbal sites. I really would like to help my son if I can, I know he has to do it on his own but if anyone knows about any herbs, eo's etc. that may help I would like to help in this area. Can you tell I love him *S* But the Mom's can only do so much, too old to kiss & make it better. He's in his late 30's & even though Mom preached about the smoking & other " vices " my rebellious teenager did not listen - he is a very heavy smoker & started in his early teens. Don't know if this info helps. 2. Second thing is hair loss/thinning. I know this was just touched on but if I mainly remember it was more in the " women with thinning hair " area. Anyone had any personal experiences with eo/herbal blends with good results? I know we would be rich if this was the case but I am trying anyway - thanks in advance. He is also " worried " in this area. God Bless You & Yours, Georgia (hahagranny) ~~~God's answers are wiser than our prayers~~~ ~~~Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away~~~ ~~~A friend hears the song in my heart & sings it to me when my memory fails~~~

Guest guest
Georgia, Hey. Poly sorbate 80 can help a bit. It's an emulsifier and it helps take the dead cells out of the hair follicle. It helped my friend who has male pattern baldness grow back some new peach fuzz... Other than that Massaging the scalp can help as well As for herbs and stuff I'm not at a place I can do the research right now, however I do know that taking biotin can help keep the hair he has already... On the smoking front... I usually just started counting adding up the amount that the cigg's cost and visualizing what I could do with that..... And If worse comes to worse you can use NLP techniques on him... Have him imagine the worst thing in the world that will turn his stomach and make him so sick he wants to throw up, and imagine that feeling and smell every time he picks up a cigg, and if it's bad enough... He'll stop.... Or you can get him to take his pack of cigg's and find the biggest pile of dog dooo you can imagine and stick the filters in them, and then.... Put them back in the pack... Buy another pack and open it and take the doggie doo cigg's and mingle them with the others.... Then when he goes to smoke one it's like Russian roulette.... Can you tell I've thought about that one before? Don't know if this info helps. Georgia, several things to suggest... 1. If you want a totally natural remedy... two essential oils have been tested effective in helping to lower the # of cigarettes smoked. I think most people are familiar with the study done on Black Pepper, but there are also some case studies done using Angelica Root. I think the two oils work very differently... black pepper more on a physical level... Jeanne Rose says it 'scratches' the throat a bit, the way the cigarette smoke does... the Angelica Root sort of helps 'shut down' emotions... not normally a good thing for any of us... but if he is in the " I NEED a cigarette " mode because of stress, etc, may help. I'd use one of those little blank inhalers for each and have him try them. NON natural things that have helped me in the past... THE PATCH, and Wellbutrin.... a mild antidepressant that is often prescribed to aid with smoking cessation. >2. Second thing is hair loss/thinning. I know this was just touched on but >if I mainly remember it was more in the " women with thinning hair " area. >Anyone had any personal experiences with eo/herbal blends with good >results? There was recently a sidebar in First for Women magazine (in an article on thinning hair!) which mentioned a product that we sell... the blend we use in the product has been tested effective for alopecia, but NOT for thinning hair... the author of the article made a huge leap of logic (or illogic)... you may read the article online at http://www.naturesgift.com/simulating-scalp-article.htm We've had positive feedback from some folks who found us via the magazine and used the blend... whether it will help him or not, who knows! > >God Bless You & Yours, >Georgia (hahagranny) Celebrating 10 years online. Guest guest
I didn't notice anyone recommend EFT yet... the website is http://emofree.com/ although I really recommend in this case working with a professional EFT practitioner who has experience with smoking cessation or other addictions. -Josh
