Happy fiftieth Michelle!

 

We know you won't see this till Tuesday,

but you can see you were thought of on The day.

 

Enjoy Oak Creek canyon.

We drove through there a year ago on our fall RV

trip to the SouthWest.

 

I had been so looking forward to Sedona,

but strangely, when we got there, the

place sort of gave me the creeps.

Too many people just like me there.

Your basic fuzzy New Age healer astrologer

type.

 

It felt unbalanced.

 

I felt the place needed a few honest blue-collar

rednecks with a six pack and a chainsaw, and

some rusting cars in the yard in case you need the

parts sometime.

Like they say, it takes all kinds, and some

kinds seemed to be missing in Sedona.

Just my impression. The landscape is glorious.

 

 

Ien in the Kootenays, where there is no

shortage of chainsaws.

Interesting what you shared about Sedona. I've been visiting Sedona

for 18 years and have lived within 2 hours for nearly 3 years. As

you can imagine, I've seen it change in many ways.

 

There have been long periods when I've felt absolutely no draw to

being there. Being the empath I am, for awhile there, whenever I

went I would have an intense headache. It was almost as though the

energy was really harsh.

 

Not so this time. It was enchanting in every way. Has Sedona

changed? Hmmmm. Not sure. But, I sure know that I have!!!

Your pictures made me miss AZ . . . I lived in Tucson between 1976 and 1983.

I travel back at least twice a year to get my " desert fix " . I still feel

blessed that I have the best of all possible geographic worlds (the NW and

the SW), although I know there are many places just as exquisite that I

haven't enjoyed yet. Yes, Sedona has changed quite a bit from those days.

Then, it was a quiet, magical, not so well known paradise.

I'm from the Pacific Northwest. Grew up in Eugene, Oregon and my

family is in Portland. Lived in Hawaii too, so it's taken me awhile to

grow to appreciate the desert. Now, I really love it. But, I need to

get my " trees and running water fix " regularly.

 

It's my intention to be in Oregon all summer and AZ in the winter.
