Guest guest
Hi, does anybody know what essential oils may be added to the skin undiluted (i.e. without a carrier oil).I am interested in oils to combat hair loss and have read about lavender, ylang ylang, rosemary and cedarwood. I am currently using a mixture of oils with jojoba oil but was wondering if i used undiluted oils would i get better results? In another forum i found a post about using lavender, ylang ylang and cedarwood on a 3 day cycle (i.e lavender 1st day, ylang ylang 2nd day, cedarwood 3rd day lavender 4th day etc...) but it didnt say if these should be diluted or not... i am quite new to using essential oils so am still learning and experimenting...i just made up a new mixture today with lots of different oils mixed with 60ml jojoba, is there any limit to how many oils i can add to my mixture? (ive added 5-10 drops, maximum of 10 drops per oil to 60ml jojoba, including rosemary, cedarwood, lavender, bay, tea tree, lemon, pine, ylang ylang...is this too much???) any comments would be much appreciated, thanks
Guest guest
Try: " No essential oil should be used diluted on the skin EVER " Essential oils are powerful little oils. Using them undiluted is running the risk of sensitization (becoming allergic to them) and/or irritation (burning, rashes etc.) Heard the expression " Too much of a good thing " ? In this case it's true. DON'T use them undiluted and don't use more than a few drops. Don't really want to get into dilution right now, it's late and I've a 12 week old kitten rampaging about on the keyboard and this has already taken me 3x longer to write than it should, BUT in a tablespoon of carrier soloution (be it milk, water, olive oil etc) don't use more than 10 drops TOTAL of the oil combinations you are using. I know it doesn't sound like much, but when using essential oils, the basic rule is " Less is More " .
