Guest guest
Anyone having any success using essential oils for hair growth stimulation? I've been trying rosemary or tea tree with olive oil as a carrier to lightly massage into the very thinning hair on my crown every night before bed. Has anyone had any success with anything for stimulating growth? As a 46-yr-old woman with short dark straight hair, thinning hair up front is not something you can hide. Guest guest
Hi Gerri, I had hair loss due to illness, I used olive oil and rosemary and lavender oil, as well as taking vitamins and diet. It worked for me and a year later my hair is all back! I guess it depends on the cause of your hair loss, to how you treat it . I did go to the doctors and have bloods taken to check out that there was not any physical cause ( thyroid problems etc) At the onset my hair just came out in handfuls! I do hope that you find a solution. Take Care Liz Leah On 29/11/05, Gerri Waters <deshongx2 wrote: > > Anyone having any success using essential oils for hair growth > stimulation? Guest guest
Gerri, Try using Jojoba as your carrier. Nancy Anyone having any success using essential oils for hair growth stimulation? Guest guest
Hi Gerri, I'm with Nancy, make organic jojoba oil your carrier. It absorbs well and is the closest matched molecule to skin/hair follicles. As a woman of 46, you can count on that hair loss being hormone related. I would suggest treating the cause AND the symptom. Hair treatments are fine for external, but don't forget to address the underlying reason for it. Hypothyroidism is usually implicated and is very common in midlife women. It often remains undetected because it's symptoms mimic perimenopause, and because blood tests often come back " within the normal range " (normal range is way too broad) when in fact, thyroid function is compromised. So, you might want to check into that as a possible cause. There are certainly other possibilities too though. Take your vitamin B complex (get plenty of B5 and Biotin), fo-ti and drink lots of water. Also of course, eliminate any chemicals from your hair care products. These are just a few ideas. Hope they help. Michelle
Guest guest
Hi Gerri, I use a shea butter/sweet almond oil mix, with a combination of rosemary, clary sage, and eucalyptus. My hair was about to the middle of my back, and I cut it off to about 1 1/2 " about two and a half months ago. It's now almost 4 " long. I don't have thin hair, but the length has grown amazingly since I started making and using this cream. You only need a very little bit of it to work. Hopefully it will stimulate those follicles into action. HTH - Tam Gerri Waters <deshongx2 wrote: Anyone having any success using essential oils for hair growth stimulation? Guest guest
Gerri, As well as using oils on the scalp, you also have to have the right ingredients in your body. Horsetail, with its high silica content, can help. Also, watch my ad on Thursday or ask me off list for nutrients that have helped some people, and won't hurt to try. ienvan
