Guest guest
I like Cinnamon/Sandlewood But you really don't want to put cinnamon in a soap -Sarah At 03:49 PM 11/14/2005, you wrote: >I want to make a soap with a sweet/spicey scent. Guest guest
Hey Sandy, This was meant to have a message! *lol* Here are a few ideas for you. You can use Cinnamon, but only the leaf oil (or powdered herb) and use it sparingly! Ginger, Clove, Nutmeg, Allspice and citrus oils like Orange blend nicely with Cinnamon for that " holiday spice " scent. I have a brown sugar soap I make HP with real brown sugar in it and it really does give it a nice baked sugar note! *Smile* Chris (list mom) Think left and think right and think low and think high. Hmm.. this is what I was thinking, so I'm glad to see that I'm on the right track. > I have a brown sugar soap I make HP with real brown sugar in it and it > really does give it a nice baked sugar note! Oh this sounds yummy! I do CP. Would it work for that? If so, how much brown sugar per pound of oils? -- Sandy

Guest guest
Hey Sandy, I've been using that vanilla concentrate I have in my soaps - I'm going to send you a sample so you can play around a little bit (ok, its a sample size, so it wouldn't make you a lot of soap, but you can get an idea of how it works though!) *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> On Behalf Of Sandy , " Gayla Roberts " <goatclearing@b...> wrote: > > Cinnamon and vanilla...MMMMMMMMMMMM This one sounds great! Guest guest
I'll dig out my brown sugar soap recipe and get back to you on this! I'm sure it can be used to give that warm baked sugar scent in CP - especially if you insulate the soap and let it get good and hot during the gel phase. Plus the sugar helps makes it lather up really really nice *Smile* Chris (list mom) Think left and think right and think low and think high. Guest guest
Chris, Does the sugar make the soap softer? If so you need to modify a normal recipe to compensate for that? Thanks, Juliet > I'll dig out my brown sugar soap recipe and get back to you on this! Guest guest
I add sugar to the water and stir well before mixing in the lye. Still get a hard bar and the sugar increases the lather. Don't see why adding sugar would make a bar soft. Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away Chris, Does the sugar make the soap softer? Guest guest
Hi, I know you asked Chris about this, but I make a whole line of Sugar Soaps and if anything, in my opinion, they make the soap a little harder. Just my experience, Chris may have a different experience with sugar.
