Guest guest
Hi Susan, I saw your post about your husband's feet. I am a Master Nail Technician with a pending Master Instructor License. I have seen some absolutely atrocious feet in my work! LOL! The worst ones are what I have dubbed as " Concrete Feet " TM They are actually as hard as concrete, white as snow, they crack and even bleed when the weather gets colder. The following is a scrub recipe I formulated while in Nail Technician school. My teacher was my " guinea pig " . It was the first time in her 20 years experience that a foot file was not needed on her feet! I demonstrated making this scrub 2 years ago at the Hand Crafted Soap Makers Guild Conference. Everyone loved it so much they asked for the recipe! So I decided to share it: Chemical & Preservative Free Self Emulsified Scrub: 1 - 4.5kg (9.90 pounds) bag Dead Sea High Magnesium Powdered Salt 11.7oz - Dead Sea High Magnesium Brine 5.6oz - Wild Honey 3.7oz - Rice Bran Oil 3.3oz - Golden Jojoba Oil 3.8oz - Emu Oil 8.1oz - Babassu Oil (May substitute Coconut or Palm Kernel) 7.6oz - Xtra Virgin Olive Oil 3.5oz - Sunflower Oil 3.7oz - Macadamia Nut Oil 2.2oz - Grapeseed Oil 3.7oz - Sweet Almond Oil 3.8oz - Avocado Oil 23.4oz - Vegetable Glycerin 2.1oz - Tocopherols (T-50) as antioxidant for Sweet Almond Oil 3.0oz Rosemary (Oil Soluble) Extract 2Tbsp each - Allantoin & Panthenol (blend into scrub) 2.5oz each - Melted Butters of Shea, Mango & Kokum (Sal, Illipe or Hemp butters work well also!) Apply 1-3% eo or fo blend (a good anti-fungal eo blend would be - lemongrass, tea tree, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, spearmint, Roman chamomile, Chinese ginger and a dash of wintergreen) Note: To create a one of a kind natural chocolate appearance to this scrub, we recommend adding 8 - 10 ounces of Balneo Peat then blend with F.O.'s such as Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Raspberry or Chocolate Chip Cookies. For a natural blend, use essential oils of peppermint & spearmint with cocoa powder and cocoa butter. This is excellent to sell as a unique approach for manicures and/or pedicures in a salon! Another recommendation, add 2 cups Dead Sea Powdered Clay for a unique texture, visual effect and more minerals! These types of skin problems are usually hereditary. If your husband really wants to get the condition under control, the following regimen should be followed: Step #1: Soak feet 30 minutes in 2 cups pure Dead Sea Salts in pedibasin. Step #2: Pat skin dry and generously apply scrub in a circular, massaging motion - 10 minutes per foot. Allow scrub to remain on feet for 10 minutes. Step #3: Paint 100% Pure Dead Sea Mud over scrub and wrap with plastic wrap. If you have heated foot mitts (can be purchased at Sally's Beauty Supply) place wrapped feet into mitts for 30 minutes. Step #4: Rinse feet thoroughly. Pat skin dry. Be sure to dry well between toes! Step #5: Apply heavy cream or natural butter blend to feet and cover with cotton socks. He needs to be aware that he will have to repeat these steps until the feet see complete healing. Everyone is different - it could take 6 treatments or 20 treatments. Once the healing takes place, he should maintain the healing by doing a treatment every 4-6 weeks. I've done these treatments with huge success in my " Totally Pamper Me! " R Nail Spa for several years now. I suffer from psoriasis, so I can relate to seriously over dry skin! I do a treatment once a week on my scalp to maintain being psoriasis free on my scalp & neck. I've been clean since June 2000! PTL!!! Please email me off list with any questions you may have - I'm here to help! HTH! God Bless, Tammy D.
