Guest guest
I purchased a pound of Citrus aurantium back in February for my soaps (unfortunately not from Butch as I didn't know about him then). I loved this oil for the smell and also the beautiful orange color it made my soaps. I made up a batch of soap last night and - no color!!! Any ideas what could've happened? The EO's I have are kept at 60 degrees in my work room with no sunlight and are in brown bottles. I used the exact amount as previously used. Thanks. Could be that one was unfiltered and still had waxes . . . ? Guest guest
Really? More things to make me go Hmmmmm...I purchased this from a company in Miami called American Apothecary. Anybody heard of them before? The smell is still there and strong as it was before. I'm going to try and load a picture of the soaps as they were before... --- Christine Ziegler <chrisziggy wrote: > I've never noticed my orange EO (many times from > Butch) to give a > particular color to my soaps ... ?!? > > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > > Think left and think right and think low and think > high. Guest guest
Would the waxes be visible in the oil? and would they dissipate over 9 months? --- Marcia Elston <samara wrote: > ________________________________ > > > > On Behalf Of Macha02012 > Saturday, November 05, 2005 2:50 PM > > Re: Something wierd with > my orange EO > > > > Hmmmmm.... > > --- macha02012 <macha02012 wrote: > > > I purchased a pound of Citrus aurantium back in > > February for my soaps > > (unfortunately not from Butch as I didn't know > about > > him then). I don't have experience with soap, and I only threw this out as a possibility; don't have definitive information that this would cause the difference in color. The wax in some unfiltered citruses do appear darker in color than the oil, however. Hopefully other soapers can add more for you.
