I too have considered retiring in Monteagle .. its a beautiful area and

one I used to spend a lotta time in when growing up .. it was not all

that far from my hometown on the TN-KY line. Monteagle is the highest

point we can cross via Interstate between Chicago and Miami .. 2,100

One of the best home cooked Suthran Fried restaurants in the South is in

Monteagle .. I stop by there every time I pass from North to South. Its

the Smoke House Restaurant & Lodge .. buffet style and larpin' gud.
