Guest guest
Hi Vickie, The study does not suggest ingestion .. basically, its saying that during in vivo and in vitro testing it was determined that the bugs can't survive when they come into contact with Oregano .. and this is an old study .. I have more recent information that suggests the same results can be had from inhalation or diffusion. This study is a bit like the one I've posted a few times on the 100% cure rate for lung cancer in rats using Origanum onites. We're not so sure it will be effective in the same way with humans because of the manner of introduction .. but if I come down with a cancer .. I won't hesitate to try it. Staphylococcus bacteria can be a real bad bug .. commonly found in many hospitals and its the common cause of folks who are not real sick and go through some type of invasive procedure in a hospital to get even more sick while in the hospital. What's commonly known as " staph " infections is what causes many folks long term problems and puts others (when their immune system is low) under snakes. The bacteria is difficult to avoid because its commonly found on our skin .. and particularly in our nose. Some years back (before this study) I had a girlfriend who worked in Gulhane Hospital in Ankara (Turkish military equivalent of Walter Reed). Her sister had stomach cancer .. and an operation. Based on the advice of a wise medical professor .. the lady bathed her sister twice daily with Oregano Hydrosol .. and she didn't get a staph infection .. though it would not have been abnormal otherwise. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/bacterial_viral/staphylococcus.html http://medic.med.uth.tmc.edu/path/00001456.htm http://textbookofbacteriology.net/staph.html > Butch. will oregano capsule work also. Hard to say .. hard to say what happens when any essential oil comes into contact with stomach acid .. but for sure we know there will be some chemical changes occurring. I'm not into Oregano capsules .. I have made than clear for the last few years .. IF .. I am going to ingest Oregano .. I take a few drops in a spoon of X-Virgin Olive Oil .. hold my nose .. thus no taste .. thus no burning .. and shoot it like a shot of liqueur .. then follow up with a big glass of water. And I often put a drop or three in a bowl of soup. But over the last couple of years I have been getting away from ingestion because I found that I can get the same results from frequent inhalation .. and perhaps even faster. As a seller of EO .. if I did not believe this I wouldn't write it because I can sell more EO if a person ingests it. > The taste of oregano gives me heartburn. I certainly believe you but I am surprised to hear this because Oregano Hydrosol is consumed to get rid of heartburn .. and to deal with other stomach ailments. But .. if a person decides to ingest Oregano .. they will not taste it if they hold their nose. > Vickie Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
