There are many commercial grade EO on the market .. and there are many

pure but mediocre oils on the market .. I can't tell you in one post how

to avoid those that aren't great but one thing you must pay attention to

is Origin .. the price of a quality oil from one country might be double

the price of an inferior (but pure) oil from another location. I don't

offer oils from any country that is not known to produce quality in a

particular botanical product.

 

You can also ask for an analysis (I'll provide a Lot Number controlled

analysis for any oil I offer) but if you don't know a good one from a

bad one .. then you gotta be into trusting the supplier .. and hoping

they do know the difference. So you are back to trusting the supplier.

 

There are many charismatic sellers of products .. many who do well in

marketing are charming charismatics who may or may not know crap about

their products .. or maybe do know them .. and either care or don't care

one way or the other .. its really a hit and miss game in that regard.

Then you have those who are not so charming .. like me and Chris and

Marge and Marcia and many others on this list. ;-) We are all nice

folks and honest folks .. but we depend on knowledge rather than on

personality to market our products. ;-)

 

Finally .. read the archives on this list .. there is a wealth of

knowledge locked into those files on this or that oil .. and on how to

determine quality. For example .. the new folks reading this post will

have no idea what we're talking about .. they have to go to the files

and see how it all started.
