Guest guest
Hi Alex, Diana of Dewberry Hill here. My husband has two books published so far, and this company even lists them with Amazon.com...good luck. www.booksurge.com Good Luck.... Alex Windancer <windancr wrote: I have been off line for a little while now, and am just beginning to catch up with the list. Most of you know that I am disabled, and am mostly homebound. My health goes in cycles, good, not so good, great and even better. To keep myself occoupied while having to stay inside, I have begun to write again. Mostly it is just for myself, family history, things the kids said and did when they were little. Oral history of the family that cannot be documented. It has been good for me. I have learned how our family survived during two world wars, a depression, large families, small or non-existant pay checks. For myself, In order to survive well when there are fewer jobs, I have decided to write books from home. Part of being prepared is having an income. I have on my desk a finished manuscript for a Sci/Fi Fantasy trilogy, complete with artwork. The next Best Seller sits here on my desk. A Science Fiction/Fantasy book. Three volumes, a trilogy. Complete with artwork. I have gone as far as I am able. Does anyone here know of a publisher or agent that I may contact about this project of mine? Can anyone here recommend one? Yes, I know about the writers guidelines books available from Barnes and Nobel. IF anyone here has published anything, has used a publisher or agent they were happy with, could you please give me some information on this? There are so many who cannot be trusted. I need help with this. Thank you Selene Selene She Who Watches and Waits windancr FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click. Guest guest
I recently signed up with a place that lists publishers and agents. The rule of thumb with agents is if they want to charge you anything, reading fee's or whatever, forget it. A good agent will work for you and know that they will get paid later on after you and your book are successful. I've been researching this myself recently and there is a publisher that has a great site with good info about getting published. I am bad about saving names and sites so I'll have to think on this one and search around my paperwork. I do know this one. http://www.literarymarketplace.com You can register at no charge but to it's like 300.00 a year or something. Also, there was a site of a guy I came across who teaches writing and is a published author who for like $125.00 will read and edit your manuscript and even make changes if you want. I'll try to look that one up too. Seemed interesting for your type book, but he didn't do children's books so not for me. Congrats on finishing your books Selene! Sincerely, Margaret
