Guest guest
Hi Butch, and thanks once again. Hope I see an Egyptian wedding. I LOVE the photos of YOUR wedding. What a great couple you make. And, what a beautiful woman Tanya is. WOW! She's got a wonderful smile! Michelle
Guest guest
Hello again. My Thanks also to Butch! A side note.A womans journry into any North Aftican ,Arab,Middle_easter country will be a whole different ball game than a mans. Also , If you do plan on shopping the outdoor markets etc. be prepard for the " Hard Sell " In America we can so " no,no just looking " and the sales person will back off(most of the time)No so over seas.Just an FYI. My dance instructor spends several days haggleing over prices and quality of goods. That is part of the reason she goes.(If you order a red veil and the shop person dosen't have it they think a green one is just as good.) I hope you have a safe and wonder filled journey!!!!!!!I wish I was going! My teacher is going just after Thanksgiving. They have a 8 hour lay-over on the way. Guest guest
Hey Michelle, > Hey Butch, I was hoping to hear from you on this. Figured you would > be " in the know " . Glad to be of assistance. I'm not so much in the know but I sorta know a bit about Egypt .. I spent a lotta time there on a lotta trips while working in US Army Central Command. Egypt is a very interesting place and a heckuva lot better than some other Mid East or African (as we wish to designate it) countries. They have some very interesting wedding processions .. and likely it is that you will experience a wedding procession in whatever hotel you stay in .. especially if you stay in the Nile Hilton .. they have a wedding or two each night. The bride might be covered (probably not if they can afford a hotel wedding) but in any case she will have beautiful eye makeup. Egyptian women seem to follow the tradition of Cleopatra in that regard. Maybe (probably) most of the other ladies there will be in mini-skirts .. Egyptian women are not as backward as some might think. Anyway .. there will be drummers and flutes and belly dancers and the bride will be preceded by younguns throwing replicas of gold coins at the crowd .. the procession takes a long time to move even 10 meters .. a very slow walk. Speaking of weddings .. I posted some photos of ours on the list .. at URL lst .. click on Butch (top line .. far right) and then on the yellow folder inside that main folder. :-P > Thanks so much for all the info and for your great personal notes. > You always make me smile Welcome you are and happy I am that you are smiling. :-) > Michelle Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
