Hi Michelle,

Below is some information that might help .. it should not make you

afraid .. it should just let you know what's what according to the folks

who live there.

If the US State Department had travel warnings for some of the large US

cities .. odds are none of us would go there. ;-)

Here's the Canadian take on travel to various locations ..

And the ExPat take .. http://www.youtrek.com/warnings/egypt.htm

And the US State Department warnings for all countries are here ..

Egypt is not unsafe .. that is .. except for the drivers. ;-) Traffic

in Cairo is so bad that sometimes they get a gridlock and folks just get

out, lock their cars, and leave them where they are.

Don't be nervous .. its not like you're going to Chicago or New York or

Los Angeles .. or some other dangerous location. ;-)

Enjoy .. and don't be surprised that the Sphinx is a bit smaller than

you might have imagined .. I was surprised. Still .. its pure art.

And King Tut's museum .. gotta see that .. its right behind the Nile

Hilton Hotel in Cairo.

If you decide to purchase papyrus .. make sure it has the government

seal on it .. otherwise .. it will be pressed and beaten banana leaf.

> Thanks for any imput you can share. Michelle

Pressed Banana Leaf? Now that's just WRONG! And you betcha I'd be looking

for some of that stuff. If I ever get to go, I'll remember that one!

Gotta run, heater man is coming to day to ruin my life for the next two.

But at least We'll be warm... although with the gas company promising prices

going up 70% this winter, we prolly won't be VERY warm.
