Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm working with a midlife woman who, over the last 3 years (since actual menopause) has lost 65% of her hair. I've suggested countless remedies for her, for hormonal balance, hair growth and to save the hair that remains. Fo-ti, B's, Biotin, EFA's, progesterone cream, horsetail, rosemary EO wraps, etc. etc. etc. She does NOT have any health conditions that would indicate hair loss (hypothyroidism, diabetes, etc.), uses excellent hair care products and eats right. In our phone consultation last night, which I spent hours preparing for, she invalidated every single natural approach I recommended basically saying she's tried it and it didn't work. Like me, she's committed to 100% pure products but is quite sure that " nothing " will work. Personally, I think there are some other " issues " going on (aren't there always?!) and she's just downright determined to remain miserable. But... that's another story. Hey, have any of you created or discovered a great topical or remedy for androgenic alopecia? You know, if you have, your product is worth a fortune! Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if there's something I've missed. Thanks for your consideration. Michelle
Guest guest
Hi Michelle, I asked a question about hairloss a couple months ago, mine is due to chemo, grew back and still falls out, very fragile. I tried many of the things you mentioned and they did not work for me either. I am not menopausal, but from your clients point of view I have to mention that one of the worst things was, and IS my hairloss, seems kinda silly and vain but I am only 36 and now the Drs. are saying I may have alopecia, brought on by being sick and stress. I am sure you are frustrated with trying to help, I know my husband just didn't know what to do, but to be sick is one thing, and you can hide that, hairloss for me as a woman was looking sick and being reminded of it everytime you looked in the mirror. I know I wasn't in anyway wanting to be miserable, but I was, still am some days, she is obviously going through alot and this is another thing she needs to come to terms with, it stinks but if she's brave she'll chop it all off- or maybe do some searching on the internet and get creative, thats what I did, my head and neck get very cold after having long hair my whole life. Sorry if I am ranting, just thought anothers point of view would help. Guest guest
Hey, I really appreciate your feedback. I don't mean to be flippant or insensitive about this woman or the condition. It's got to be horrible. I guess my frustration is in that she uses something for a very short period and determines it ineffective. Thanks for writing. Guest guest
Hi Michelle, I have a friend that is using straight Jojoba oil on her daughter's head for the alopecia. It hasn't 'cured' it but it has definitely slowed the process better than anything else they've tried. Guest guest
That's great to know. Thanks! I use pure jojoba in mine too. And, on my face. Thanks Valerie. I hadn't thought of that. DUH! Guest guest
Michelle, My recommendation would be (what else) wild bluegreen algae and Emotional Freedom Technique, together. Stronger, thicker hair is one of the frequently mentioned benefits of AFA. Also, AFA actually stimulates the function of adult stem cells from the bone marrow, the body's ultimate repair system. As for EFT, what better way to get rid of unconscious hangups. Ien in the Kootenays **********************************
Guest guest
Michelle, After a long period of illness last year I suffered this problem. I intially had no idea what to do. I used good olive oil and a dilution of rosemary and lavender essential oil. I also used evening primrose oil, starflower oil, multivitamins, and a zinc/calcium/ magnesium mixture from the health store. It worked and my hair one year later is thicker curlier and in better condition. For the stress of the condition I used reiki and flower remedies. This worked for me.
