Guest guest
Barb Try homeopathic Arnica and Hypericum both internally and externally. Hope this helps mjh Message: 20 Sun, 23 Oct 2005 09:35:21 -0700 " Barb Jenson " <ravensara Substitute for Helichrysum? My mother (she is 78) fell on Friday evening, hitting her left buttock against the corner of the fireplace hearth. She has a HUGE hematoma deep within the buttock, along with a large amount of brusing. There is also a very small puncture point where she hit the corner of the hearth. She also has bruises on her lower arms and wrist area on both arms where she hit something, but we aren't su re what. Mom has always bruised easily, and the bruises stay around for a long time. She was on ice for the first 24 hours, and has now changed to heat on the buttock. This hematoma is very large - larger than a grapefruit. Is there any alternative to helichrysum that can be used on this area? Helichrysum is SO expensive, that it is out of the question. I told my parents about using arnica cream on the area, being careful to stay away from the puncture site. Mom is also taking several Vitamin C during the day, as this will help the tissues mend. I am thinking horsetail capsules three times daily, with at least 8 ounces of water for each pill. I would welcome any and all suggestions! Thank you for your assistance. Ouch! My mother has also had some bad falls and bruises (and breaks) easily. Than goodness she is really fine and the bruises will heal. > > She was on ice for the first 24 hours, and has now changed to heat on > the buttock. I've been a way for a few days and just reading email so i am a little late with my responses. You may have already found what works for you. I also love organic Helichrysum italicum (from Corsica)- it is a very potent. If it were me I would certainly add some to a blend- you do not need much more than a few drops. I would also use St. John's Wort macerated oil (infused blossoms in olive oil) in my base and a bit of Calendula. Herbal oil and essential oils work well together. I would also use Lavender and German Chamomile. I'd also suggest MSM for use as a supplement (taken with C) and I'd also add the powder to my bath salts- not sure if she is able to bathe or not. Take care Barb ;-) Elizabeth Whole Life Essentials Pure Organic Essential Oils, Hydrosols, & Natural Products http://www.WholeLifeEssentials.com
