Guest guest
Has anyone used green tea seed oil in soapmaking? I have some that I purchased from Chris but have only used it in skin creams. What is it's SAP value? I'm assuming that since it's a fairly pricey oil it should be used as a small proportion of the formula and maybe added at trace. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I know Nikie from After The Rayne makes some soaps with the Tea Seed Oil I am pretty sure she uses it as one of the supplemental oils in her recipes rather than a main oil. The sap value is: .134 I too use it in skin creams and lotions. I've also added it to some of my shampoo and conditioner recipes, and I use it for all my stir fry cooking! I love that oil. I think I'll have to do anther buy on that before the holidays <grinz> *Smile* Chris (list mom) Think left and think right and think low and think high. Guest guest
It is also known as Camellia Oil and I use it in my Shampoo bars as it is great for the hair!!! You can find it in the lye calculators under Camellia oil. Guest guest
LOL!! Just saw this email after I answered the other one!!! I don't have my recipe in here with me as it is in the soap shack, but I'm thinking I use it at about 1-2% in my Shampoo Bar recipe.
