::Esters = Elegant Formulations!::

The process of " esterification " occurs when a fatty

alcohol (such as glycerin) is reacted with a fatty acid

(such as stearic). The resulting material is a light

emollient which improves slip and other properties of

personal care formulations. Here you will find a good

selection of natural emollients as well as naturally

derived esters that will dramatically improve the

aesthetics and performance of your hair and skin

care formulae as well as bath and body care

products. Improve slip, glide, feel, rubout,

combability, and gloss while reducing tack with these

must-have materials. Can you make a product

without these ingredients? Yes! *But why would you?*

ultimate skin luxuries and simple to make. It has a

consistency identical to butter, and leaves the skin

totally conditioned. Excellent for make-up removal,

and cleansing dry skin! Vena Sateena provides

surfactant free cleansing in place of the old, drying

borax of yesterday?s ?Pond?s?. Forget Mineral Oil!

Olive Squalane provides excellent skin feel, Hempseed

long chain fatty acids, including three previously

unknown, while Hazlenut Oil & Hydrolyzed Wheat

miniaturization. Organicals Fresh & Firm Complex adds

Alkyl Ester:: Shine, Silky Feel, Solubilizer, Pigment Wetter.

This colorless, odorless, light emollient has the

silkiest glide of all the agents we've tested. A

fabulous addition to practically any personal care

product imaginable, it's high refractive index,

unparalleled feel, couple with its pigment

wetting/dispersing capability and its function as a

very effective solubilizer for ceramides, sunscreens,

etc make this material a truly multifunctional

ingredient for use in your products! Just add 1-5% in

the oil phase of any formula. Shampoos and shower

gels can reap the rewards, too. Just add 1-2% in

with your surfactants! Making lip products? This is a

Cetyl Esters:: Improved Stability, Cushiony Glide, Increased Viscosity.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you currently use Cetyl or

Cetearyl Alcohol in your formulations, try replacing

that material with Cetyl Esters to gage it's fabulous

rheology. Cetyl Esters, aka Cetyl Esters Wax NF is

also known as " Synthetic Spermacetti Wax " because

it was created to mimic the performance and feel of

a waxy liquid once harvested from the whale. This

friendlier version is derived from Coconuts, and adds

glistening glide as well as fabulous viscosity! Cetyl

Esters is a VERY efficient thickener, and can take up

to two days to fully stiffen. Excellent replacement for

Beeswax, as this material has vegan approval and

elegance to boot. Add 1-3% in the oil phase of your

formulation, and you'll never be without it!

Isopropyl Myristate:: Quick Absorption, Improved Glide & Rubout.

Isopropyl Myristate, commonly referred to as ?IPM? is

the ester of Isopropyl Alcohol and Myristic Acid.

Isopropyl Myristate is used in cosmetic and topical

medicinal preparations where good absorption

through the skin is desired. Moreover, it occurs in

technical fats. Myristic Acid, a fatty acid, can be

derived from most vegetable and animal fatty acids,

but most especially from Nutmeg (Myristica fragrans),

palm seed fats, and milk fats. Add 1-10% in the oil

phase of formulations to experience IPM, which

spreads more quickly over the skin than does IPP,

but leaves less emollience on the surface by

comparison. IPM makes an outstanding lubricant or

tack reducer because of these properties. This

emollient would likely be your top choice for massage

products. Shampoos and shower gels can benefit

when you incorporate 1-2% with your surfactants!

Low Price (Per Pound):: $4.29

Isopropyl Palmitate:: Improved Penetration, Glide, Skin Feel.

Isopropyl Palmitate, commonly reffered to as " IPP " is

the emollient ester dervied from Palmitic Acid (Palm

Oil). When compared to IPM, it offers a longer lasting

skin feel than IPM, due to slower spreading. Often

used in medicinal preparations to enhance

penetration of other ingredients, IPP makes a

fabulous addition to most any product. This emollient

may be your top choice for facial preparations due to

it's slow glide and light afterfeel. Just 1-10% in your

oil phase to experience the benefits of IPP. Or if

desired, incorporate 1-2% with your surfactants in

shower gels and shampoos!

Low Price (Per Pound):: $4.73
