Hi Josh,

Wow! I have copied and pasted your message and sent it to my health file.

I had no idea it was this time intensive. Maybe next summer I'll take a

whirl at it. But for now, it looks like I'll be better off being an essence

" bottle-dropper baby " . No pun intended.

Thank you. You really have helped me a lot today. Kudos to you!

Hi Carol,

Perhaps you'll find a brief overview of the manufacturing processes

helpful...

A common way to make a flower essence: cut blooms into bowl of water

until the entire surface is covered... set in the sun for 3 hours...

remove flowers, mix with brandy to preserve. The idea is that the

energetic " vibration " of the flowers is transferred to the water.

If you've seen What The Bleep Do We Know? or are familiar with Dr.

Emoto's snowflake experiments, you've been exposed to one theory of

how this works.

Essences do not smell like much of anything, except the preservative

used (which varies, including brandy, vinegar, or in the case of

Green Hope farms, Shiso extract)

Essential oils are obtained by steam distillation, which separates

the volatile oils from the rest of the material used. Each is a broth

of aromatic chemicals which can be analyzed and measured with

scientific tests.

Hope this helps!

Hi Carol,

Quite welcome... and no worries about making your own, if it calls to

you you'll enter into it at the right times in the right ways. In the

meantime, there couldn't be so many manufacturers already if there

weren't people who did nothing but buy their products :-)

And as far as oils OR essences go, there are some really lovely

people in the businesses to support. When you're ready to buy oils,

the folks on this list who sell them will be more than helpful. As

far as essences, if you've got a gut feeling that there's something

there for you right now, but are unsure how to proceed, perhaps it

would be a fit for you to *call* Green Hope Farms and get a little

guidance. Their phone number should be on their website:

http://www.greenhopeessences.com

Best,

Josh
