Guest guest
" Bovine Excrement " (chuckle) What a polite way to put it. Well, Butch, to avoid the " excrement " , what Essential Oil products are really great? Is it a handful or are there many on the market? Guest guest
Carol, you may be getting Bach Flower Remedies and/or Flower Essences of another sort confused with Essential Oils. Bach Flower Remedies use Brandy to act as a preservative when combined with the mother tincture. Some of the other flower essences use brandy and some use other types of alcohol. Butch has already sent a post about essential oils in the majority not containing any alcohol. Dorothy Carol wrote: > At one site, I noticed the products contain " brandy alcohol. Guest guest
Okay, Butch, quite obviously this is where I goofed in my researching today. I confused Bach Remedies with Essential Oils. Although I kind of thought they were both oils of a type. Here's where I got the " brandy alcohol " from. It's the Bach Rescue Remedy ... At one site, I noticed the products contain " brandy alcohol. " I was taken aback by that. Do all EO products contain some form of alcohol? --------------------------- Butch wrote: NO Essential Oils contain alcohol unless there is a small trace amount in the particular aromatic source from which the oil was extracted. Some Absolutes are high in natural Phenyl ethyl alcohol .. but that is just another chemical constituent in particular aromatics.

NO Essential Oils contain alcohol unless there is a small trace amount in the particular aromatic source from which the oil was extracted. Some Absolutes are high in natural Phenyl ethyl alcohol .. but that is just another chemical constituent in particular aromatics. And .. I should also have mentioned that the comments below .. about low and high temp distillation .. are also hype because one cannot distill unless the water is at least boiling. No commercial distiller will waste money by wasting energy to " cook " an oil longer than necessary. However, much of the marketing hype used by various companies is intended to (1) insinuate that they do things in an unusual or unique manner that is superior to the manner in which other company's products are produced .. and (2) overwhelm the unknowing with Bovine Excrement so as to appear to be experts in the field. > Carol > No. California Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com > -------------------- > >>Commercial grade essential oils are considered by many to be oils >>that come from being re distilled or from inferior sources or even >>high temp distillation.
