Guest guest
" the only thing my doctor gave me was something called Estrace, which is a topical estrogen cream for the vaginal tissue because menopause makes the tissue thin and uncomfortable. other than that, i don't know anything about HRT. HRT seems kinda unnatural though... " Melanie, Me too -- did menopause naturally -- now at 61 Dr (gyno) prescribed estrace. Any idea how long one can use this product. It's estrogen isn't it. Are there any problems with using this product long term. Dry thin tissue in that region does not make one happy at romantic times. Been wanting to discuss this topic for a long time - thankful to see some discussion - got me to write this and get some opinions. Drs. prescribe all kinds of Rx and some of them are NOT good for us. So glad I did not need, want or use HRT that my GP and Gyno both recommended. Menopause was tough -- used just about everything recommended by Susan Weed and Rosemary Gladstar. -- Be Well, Bobbi Guerra www.thepurplesage.com sales
Guest guest
For thin, drying vaginal tissue, try supplements containing Maca, the superfood from the Andes. Maca is literally as safe as cabbage. It is actually a rootcrop, related to the lowly turnip. Don't knock the turnip either. Traditional teaches that turnips increase the flow of Qi, life force. That tidbit just appeared in Alive magazine. Ah, synchronicity! I have noticed a moister, more elastic vaginal lining myself when I take Sumacazon. I don't want to go beyond the alotted ad time so ask me about it off list. Ien in the Kootenays ********************************* " The world is as you dream it. Guest guest
from what i understand, the estrace only delivers estrogen locally, not systemically... so it is okay to use regularly. thin vaginally tissue is awful! mine keeps tearing during intercourse, OUCH! i just started on the estrace so i haven't seen the full benefit yet but i hope it will help. i've had endometriosis for many years now and was very worried about using estrogen because it increases endometrial growth. but my doctor assured me that it was okay in this case because it only acts on the tissue it is applied to and is safe to use. so, here i am, at 30, entering perimenopause and using estrace! i haven't had any ill effects from it, so i'm content to use it as long as i need it. congratulations on completing menopause au naturale! many women can't or won't do it. i hope to do it naturally because i don't want to do HRT. yuck. -Melanie , Bobbi <herbalsoaplady@c...> wrote: > " the only thing my doctor gave me was something called Estrace, which is a topical estrogen cream for the vaginal tissue because menopause makes the tissue thin and uncomfortable. other than that, i don't know anything about HRT. Guest guest
Hey girls, There are so many things you can do for this without using synthetic estrogens. Ien has some great products for peri/meno for sure. The women in my retreats report excellent results from inserting a high quality, pure vitamin E gelcap vaginally. It's very healing, soothing and lubricating. And, vitamin E increases your own production of estrogen. I would also really recommend increasing your essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9) which is best found in Hemp oil and/or flax oil. There's a woman here of 30 using a synthetic estrogen vaginally. Hey, we've all gotta make the choices right for us. However, with your history and at your age, I would highly recommend finding other more natural approaches. The estrogen you use today could very well make the years to come even more challenging for you. Hope this helps some, Michelle http://www.holisticmenopause.com
Guest guest
Michelle, As somebody with a severe intolerance to beef and beef byproducts, I have a question. I am 35, and have noticed a significant.. er.. drying and thinning in hte last couple of years, to the point where intimacy is severely compromised (much to my husband's severe consternation!). Is there a possibility that one may simply use straight T-50 (tocopherol Vit E from my lotion making supply?) or is there a company that provides vegan " gelatin " capsules? I used to do more of the flax seed than I do now. I'll try to remember to introduce it back into my diet. Guest guest
Hi Kirsten, The EFA's will really make a difference. There are a few other options in addition to the vitamin E too. I always recommend Carlson's oil products. I personally think they're the best. Again, you can use a cap like a suppository, or you might consider this cream. Check it out here >> http://carlsonlabs.com/product_detail.phtml?prodid=00025 Hope this helps some. I know it can be such a problem. I have a woman who actually tore while squatting before using the vitamin e vaginally. She says it " saved her marriage " . Michelle
Guest guest
Hey Kirsten, I realized I didn't really answer your question about your vitamin E that you use for lotion making. If it's totally pure, I'd say give it a try! Michelle
