Guest guest
>>>An article on " dry oil " perfumes caught my attention, so I googled and found that Cyclomethicone is the carrier. It didn't raise any red flags on various sites on cosmetic products I visited. It's a form of silicone. Do the smart folks here know of a downside to this ingredient?<<< From what I've read, it's pretty harmless. Not exactly " natural " , but harmless. It's excellent for room and body sprays. It won't dampen the sheets, and does not stain, but is a great carrier for eo's, as they dissolve readily in it. When sprayed, it is volatile, and evaporates fairly quickly. I asked about it once on the Cosmeticlab group, and got a bunch of chemistry talk. LOL Christy
Guest guest
It's great in the hair too. It's not natural at all, but it is a great silicone for the hair as it helps strengthen the hair shaft. I use it in my conditioners. It's also one of the main ingredients you see in the products that control Hair Friz, such as Liquid Shine and Frizz Ease. I spritz it in my curly hair and it helps with flyaways without a greasy feel. I also use it as a body spray. When I did a prebuy on it, we had five drums that we had to split up, so we were literally covered in the stuff!! LOL!! My clothes were not stained and we were not bothered by any of it. At one point some splashed into my eye because the siphon overflowed out of the jug and it did not irritate my eye at all. I don't know if that helps any, but that's my opinion of the stuff!!
