Collect the seeds by wearing strong gardening gloves and snip them

into a brown paper bag.

Select the seeds on a hot dry day.

Store the bag where it's dry and warm and wait until the seed heads

have dried out well.

Than shake the bag, shake and shake it...and shake some more, keep on

doing that for a few days.

The seeds will fall to the bottom of the bag, just take out the empty

seed heads ( with gloves!!) and crush the seeds lightly or do a fast

blend in the blender with strong vodka.. Let this steep in a glass jar

for a few weeks and than strain through an unbleached coffee filter.

Or save the seeds to make an infusion tea...

Thanks Christa Maria,

I bet those same instructions will work

for milk thistle too!

I practically worship my plant, but it sure

is tough to harvest.
