Well we survived the storm and 70 hours + without electricity. We had no

damage as far as person or property, and we thank you all for your prayers,

emails, phone calls etc. Our electricity came back on at 10 p.m. Monday night.

I pray and empathize with those that still don't have it, or lost more. We were

VERY lucky. DH had bought a small generator last year. Was the best investment

he made as far as we are concerned. We were able to alternate the ref. and

freezer, and a lamp and fan, so we are thankful! Are still having rolling

blackouts a couple of times a day, but we can live with that. I know as kids we

( or some of us anyway ) lived without AC, but that was then and this is now.

Sat, and part of Sunday wasn't bad, as it was cloudy. But then came the sun and

this record heat. Monday, took my thermometer out at 4 pm, and it was 104.

That doesn't include the heat index either. DS was here for the storm, but went

home Sat. night. He didn't even loose power down in Sugarland/Stafford area.

Hi Anita,

So glad y'all are ok.

How did Tommy get away with no power out? We lost power until mid

afternoon Saturday *lol* Shows what a difference 1.1 miles makes ;)

Have you heard from Georgia???? I keep hearing that Cleveland is a " town

in trouble " .

Anita,

So good to hear that all is well for you. You too Chris and all

others affected by Rita. As a resident of Phoenix AZ, I just can't

imagine going without A/C. I often wonder how the pioneers of this

desert ever survived! The hardship so many are facing certainly puts

any of my little complaints into perspective and has me counting my

blessings.

I'm so concerned that storms of this magnitude will only worsten as

the planet continues to become warmer.

Sending prayers for the people AND the earth,

Michelle
