Guest guest
I've been buying lye in 50 pound bags from a chemical company here in Michigan for a few years and selling it along with the rest of my small line of soap making supplies. Never had to fill out any kind of papers - from Haz-mat or anywhere. Didn't even have to show my sales tax license. They even deliver the bags right to my door with out any shipping or delivery charge Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away >Also, I ordered from www.chemistrystore.com last spring. they require you >to fill out a HazMat form but you can get lye shipped from them and their >prices are reasonable for both lye and shipping. they allow you to purchase >as many 2 lb containers as you like w/o additional hazmat fees. although you >can get a 50lb bag from them as well; i'm not sure what the cost-analysis is >with buying in bulk vs. paying hazmat fees as I haven't needed more than 2 >pounds at a time yet! they sell both sodium hydroxide for making solid soap >bars and potassium hydroxide for liquid soap making.
