I was referred to the SupplyReview list by Butch several months ago.

I had not heard of it before then. Lots of fo users there, not many

serious eo users, it seems, but that was ok. The group posted

experiences they had with suppliers in terms of customer service,

timely shipping, etc. Many of the suppliers mentioned, I had used

for various purchases. I, personally, found the list fairly useful,

took what I could from it, deleted what wasn't pertinent to my

situation.

 

Then along comes Martin's post. I understand where he was coming

from, and respect his knowledge, but it was, unfortunately, not the

place to post it, and it was also, unfortunately, taken out of context

and thought to be a " ploy " to get people to buy his publication, visit

his website, etc. It was clear to me that was NOT the intention of

Martin posting there, but then, I know Martin. The list owner had no

idea who he was.

 

I didn't have any complaints with the list owner until she make those

comments that were clearly about Butch and Chris, making it sound like

there was some secret conspiracy going on to lure people into buying

their oils. And it seemed very unfair of her to infer that Butch and

Chris think they are " guru's " of eo's. Nothing could be further

from the truth

 

Chris has got to be the kindest, level-headed, objective, and FAIR

list owner out there. She has a business, and of course she wants to

increase sales, but she does this the old fashioned way, with honesty

and integrity. She has no room in her heart for unethical business

practices.

 

And Butch has proven himself to be quite knowledgable on eo's and has

been able to source excellent quality oils, which he buys in bulk, and

sells at a low profit margin, because he is not GREEDY. Whenever

asked, he generously provides people with accurate, up to date

information on essential oils.

 

When I was reading on the Supply list a couple posters repeating more

than once that it was " ok " to apply lavender neet, I asked Butch to

post something, mainly because I felt he could say it better than me.

I didn't see anything wrong in his post, and knew he wasn't doing it

to boost sales of Martins publication. He even prefaced that part

with something like " I don't know how else to post this without it

sounding like an " ad " , (which it wasn't), but he did want to pass

along the information about Martins safety manual, because it really

is the only one of its kind right now.

 

That's when the list owner made the inference that Butch and Chris had

some sort of hidden agenda. She didn't use their names, but if you

are on this list, it was clear who she meant. Things were not

appropriately said,and I started to question the usefulness of the

list. I've remained on board, because I do still enjoy it, but after

this post, I will probably be the next kicked off, as well!
