Guest guest
Thanks for passing along this info Zo, Also, folks, if you're in any kind of a metropolitan area look in your Yellow Pages under Chemicals and there is a good chance you'll be able to find some place within driving distance that you can get lye from. Some of them require a tax resale number (some don't). Some of them require a separated compartment like a pick up truck to take the goods (others don't) so be sure to get details of what you need to purchase from them. When I lived in CO I had a chemical supply company in my area that I could go to and get lye in bulk. Also here in the Houston TX area there are some. *Smile* Chris (list mom) The Vanilla Bean Blow Out http://www.alittleolfactory.com Cranberry & Raspberry Seed Oil Sale http://www.aftertherayne.com/vanilla.htm Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try! - Dr Seuss On Behalf Of Zonella Gould You can contact Boyer Corporation in La Grange, Ill. and order it in 10# box (the lye is contained in very heavy plastic bag and then put in box) I have bought the case which is 4 of these boxes which is 40 pounds at a $1.00 a pound. With the shipping of $40.00 to Texas this makes it come out to be $2.00 a pound or .13 cents an ounce. You can also purchase potassium hydroxide flakes from then.
